Brought my overseas friends here for a casual dinner. We sat at the outside seating and it was great for a summer evening. I wasn't too hungry so I just got one pasta dish - the tagliolini with shrimp. This is so good on a summer day as the lemon zest and fresh tomato make it so refreshing - I actually enjoyed the tagliolini even more than the shrimps in the dish. They also have a decent wine list and we enjoyed our dolcetto d'alba. For dessert we ordered to share the tiramisu, pannacotta and the chocolate caramel crunch tart, all of them are delicious and meet the expectation you would have for an authentic version of these desserts from an italian restaurant. A neighborhood gem at reasonable prices and I would surely come again.

By far the best Italian restaurant in NYC. I just love this place, and everyone I bring here loves it too. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is authentic and fantastic. We really love this place, and make a point to come here every time we are in the city. Really cute outdoor seating area as well - very intimate and adorable restaurant inside. I love the pastas and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Thank you! We will be back again!

I was just discussing authentic Italian restaurants in the city with some Italian friends. I went on Yelp and noticed I never review Il Post Accent although Ive been here many times when we lived in Manhattan prior to Covid. I had some photos and nice memories so guess it's better late than never to share them. Great food and wine at this nice family place.

I came here for dessert and coffee on a Sunday night. Definitely not the typical move, as it's a sit-down restaurant, but I couldn't recommend more. My friend and I shared the chocolate mousse and one of the specials, which was a mascarpone gelato with pistachios, pomegranate seeds, olive oil, and sea salt. Both were incredible, I couldn't pick a favorite. The staff were so nice and personable; I would definitely come back!

I found Il Posto Accanto's Instagram page after I saw a news report that one of the owners, Julio, was on and I started following it. The page is filled with food, trips to the farmers market, and the owners especially Bea who is charming and funny while either tempting you with "terrible" food or reminding you to go to the market because it's good for you or Sunday is when they have lasagna. I simply had enough of this wonderful torment and my husband and I went tonight. Il Posto Accanto is a perfect Italian restaurant. This is real Italian food and not that chain that has all the breadsticks and salad you can eat whose name rhymes with polive pardon. The bread on the table was clearly homemade and almost life changing. I started with the Calamari Alla Griglia which was extremely flavorful and fresher than any I've ever had in my life. My husband had the burrata and thought it was one of the best things he's ever eaten. My entree was a rigatoni Genovese special that was filling, plentiful, and delicious. My husband raved about his Cavatelli Di Ricotta Fatti In Casa. Everything we ordered was more than generously portioned so go hungry! The service was as good as it gets. Everyone was kind, friendly without prying, knowledgeable, and attentive. This is a great crew! As of 2/10/24, the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining. Indoors is small but not cramped and beautifully decorated with careful attention to detail.

We were in town for Winter Jazz Fest and looking for a place for dinner near the venue. Originally our reservation was for 4 but our party doubled in size and the owner Julio was gracious and accommodating and sat us all together. We started with a few appetizers-and everything was amazing! I usually pass on Burrata salads especially when tomatoes are out of season but this one was sooooo good, the calamari was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the beet salad and mixed salad were perfect, too. We all chose pastas for entrees and everyone loved their selection. I had - what was hands down THE BEST LASAGNA I have ever eaten! 10 layers of perfect deliciousness. I cannot wait to return and bring more friends. Our whole experience was lovely.

Stellar! I can't believe I haven't review this place. Have been frequenting this institution for lunch/diner since pre-pandemic days. Mom lives in the area & I grew up in Alphabet City. (Ave B btwn 6th & 7th Sts) This is one of Padma Lakshmi's go to places. She does live in the area. My must haves every time - the grilled calamari, eggplant (not an eggplant lover) Never, ever disappointed and the quality for the price is just exceptional for NYC Reservations a must! even with a reservation, expect a wait

I was downtown and decided to take advantage and find some good authentic Italian food. My wife found this place on Yelp so we decided to try it out. Street parking was pretty easy to find in the area too which was a plus. From the moment I entered I realized I was in for a treat. The place had a vibe about it that took me back to my time in Trastevere a city right outside of Rome. I would eat in the same place almost everyday the last time I went there. The food was authentic we ordered CALAMARI ALLA GRIGLIA and it was incredible, full of flavor and so tasty. The service was extremely efficient and impressive, attentive without being overbearing. For the main dish I ordered TAGLIOLINI SAPORE DI MARE because it reminded me of a dish I ordered in Rome. It was home made Tagliolini with seafood in a red sauce. When it came out and I watched the food runner place it in front of me with anticipation. It was steaming hot and looked outstanding. I finally got to try it and Wow! This dish is an absolutely delightful. I very rarely take home what I don't finish but this time I had to take the rest home. The next day I ate it for lunch and it was just as good as when it was first served. For dessert, we had a special that was suggested I can't remember the name but it was a cake made with olive oil and fruits served with ice cream and it too, was incredibly delicious. This is a place I would highly recommend, authenticity means everything to me and to make matters even better the prices were very reasonable. I will be back to this place for sure.
